Bulletin Board Options
Party line owners trying to set up your board must login to it first with their default code. The default settings are to
have message approval on so if you do not login to approve messages or record your bulletin board greeting message your
boards will not work.
The bulletin boards main menu. You have 4 options from here. For the main board press 1, to join any other board press 2,
to browse the bulletin board directory press 3, to login to a bulletin board as a moderator press 9, or you can exit the
boards by pressing 0.
If you choose option 1 you will hear the main board's main greeting message. You will then hear instructions on how to work
the board. The commands as follows; to replay a message press 1, to decrease volume press 2 to increase volume press 3, to
enter the number of a message to skip to press 4 for example 412 would play message 12. To post a message on the board press
5, if the board has message approval on your message will not appear on the system right away. If message approval is off
it will be posted as the first message on the board. To hear the previous message press 6, to hear the next message press 7,
option 8 will tell you how much time is remaining on a message. It is an added feature I thought would be really cool so I
added it. Say you are listening to a message that seems to go on forever simply press 8 and it will tell you how much time
is left until the message ends. This feature is not available anywhere else and is a first as far as I know. Option 9 will
toggle messages from oldest to newest and newest to oldest. That way you can choose which order to hear them in. Moderators
option 9 is deleting message options. They will be able to delete or even block the sender of a message as well as delete all
messages in one shot and if they press 99 it will then toggle messages from oldest to newest or newest to oldest for them as
well. To rewind a message 10 seconds press star, to fast forward a message 10 seconds press pound, and you can exit by
pressing 0.
As you can see our boards are fully loaded. Another nice thing about these boards is that you can post 60 minute messages
and you can stop and continue recording where you left off should you decide to leave a nice long message. The boards will
hold an unlimited amount of posts but will expire after 30 days if space is needed.
Select A Specific Board
Option 2 from the bulletin boards main menu to join any other board will allow you to enter the board number you want
to join. If you enter a board that is not set up it will let you know that. If you select a board that exists you will
hear their 15 second ad and can choose to join it or enter a different board if you made a mistake. Once on the board you
want it works exactly like the main board. These boards are room owner boards. At default the room does not have a board.
The party line owner will need to enable it on the phone or the web should a room owner request one. When a board is set
up the room and board number are the same and the moderator code for the room is the same moderator code for the board.
Example room 1 would have board 1; room 2 would have board 2. You can also jump to a room's board from in their room if
you want to go to their board by pressing star 53 from in the room. If they do not have a board it will let you know
that. If a room onwer is logged into their room and presses star 53 they will go onto their board as moderator and will be
able to approve or delete messages.
Browse The Bulletin Board Directory
Option 3 from the bulletin boards main menu is to browse a directory of boards. When you join here you will hear 15 second
ads of each board enabled on the system. The commands are as follows, to replay the board press 1, to hear the previous
board press 2, to hear the next board press 3, to skip to a specific board press 4 for example 412 would take you to
board 12 if it was enabled. To join the board you are on press 5, you will then hear the board's main greeting message
and it works just like joining any other board. Pressing 0 will exit this section.
One thing you need to know is that you have to have a bulletin board directory message recorded in order to show up on
the list of boards. If you do not, you will not show up on the list. If you do not have at least one board with a greeting
this feature will not work at all.
Bulletin Board Moderator Options
Option 9 from the bulletin boards main menu is to login to your board as the moderator. It will ask you to enter the board
to login to so board 1 would press 1 pound. For the main board party line owners would press star pound. It will then ask you to
enter your moderator code which for room owners is the room's moderator code. For line owners it is your main system default
code. Once you are logged in it will tell you how many messages you have waiting to be approved unless you have message
approval off. This section is called the bulletin board moderator menu and your commands are as follows. To hear all
messages waiting to be approved press 1, to record your bulletin board directory message press 2, to record your bulletin
board greeting message press 3, to turn message approval on or off press 4, to browse your board as the moderator press
5, or to exit press 0.
Option 1 listen to messages that require your approval, the commands are a little different. Pressing 5 will approve
and post a message to your board, and you can press 9 to delete messages. All other options are the same as the
other boards. When you press 9 to delete you have 4 options. 1 will delete the message, 2 will delete the message and block
the sender from your board, and room. Line owners who block will block the sender from the entire system. The caller will
show up on your block list on the web and phone should you ever decide to unblock them. 3 will ask you to confirm
deleting all messages on from your board. If you do your board will be empty and all past messages lost forever. 9 will
toggle messages from oldest to newest or newest to oldest.
Option 2 to record your bulletin board directory message you have 15 seconds to record a good advertisement for your board.
This ad will show up in the directory when callers are searching for a good board to join. You will be able to hear your
ad, record a new one, or delete it off the system.
Option 3 to record your bulletin board greeting message you have a lot longer to record a good greeting for your board.
This will play as soon as callers join your board and you can list your rules, what the board is about, or anything else
you want on the message. You will be able to hear your greeting, record a new one, or delete it off the system.
Option 4 will turn message approval on or off. When this is on no messages will appear on your board without approval from
you first. When this is off all messages will appear on your board instantly. You will still be able to go
in after to delete them if there is something you want to get rid of.
Option 5 lets you browse your board as the moderator so that you can remove any unwanted messages. The options are the
same as browsing any other board except that you have option 9 for your deleting options.
Party line owners will have option 6 and 7 from the bulletin board moderator menu in addition to the other options
mentioned. These options are available on the web as well when editing your rooms under room settings.
Option 6 will allow the line owner to enable a room board. It will ask the number of the board to enable so if you press
12 pound it will enable board 12 on the system.
Option 7 will allow the line owner to disable a room board if they ever need or want to get rid of one. It will ask the
number of the board to disable so if you press 12 pound it will disable board 12 on the system. If you do decide to
disable a board be sure it is what you want because it will delete all posts and greetings from the board,
and if you ever delete a room it will delete the rooms bulletin board as well, and set everything back to default
so be careful.
Another thing you will notice if you are a party line owner is that after you login if you press 0 to exit
and then select option 9 to login again you will be able to enter any board you want on your system as the moderator.
That way if your room owners are allowing stuff on their boards you do not like, you can get rid of it. If a room owner
exits and goes back in by pressing 9 they automatically go to their own board and do not have the option to select a
different board.
